Below is a shared text between me and Syrafel Dimante.
Hi. for starters I would like to explain my species its name is Allo-Vrídi derived from Greek terms, (Allo)allodapós which means alien and (Vrídi)yvrídio which means hybrid. It is a new breed with many traits of leopards, dragons, and sharks and a few unique to their habits. I will give a short description of it and later the back story. (NOTE THIS IS AN ORIGINAL OF MINE AND SILVARIN DARKLIGHT'S ANY ATTEMPT TO TAKE THIS AS YOUR OWN WILL NOT BE TOLERATED THIS FURRY WAS CREATED THE DATE OF JANUARY 19 2011)i will not mind you using it as your fursona but please give us credit as the breeds creator

They are an alien race though there characteristics look much of a mixed breed but don't confuse them for one. Their base look is close to a snow leopards black based fur with white spots but the spots all look like glyphs or runes. Along there forearms they have scales white, blue, or purple in color they run from the back of their claws(or paws) which lap over and around to their elbows and spike off about two or three inches. More snake like scales cover their breasts/chest and stomachs down to their inner thighs stopping at the knees. Also along the back of their haunches, below the digi-joint, is the same scale pattern as their forearms. Their rear claws and fore claws are very dragon like, the females can retract their claws where as the male cannot but the males claws curve slightly more than the females. They also have a long tail starting off with thick fur and about half way through begins to turn into scales and taking the shape of a sharks fin, the female's fin is up right while the males is sideways more like a dolphin's. Now for the wings they are varied by gender as most of their traits are the females have smoother dragon like wings and only one claw at the main spread, the males(and hermaphrodites) wings are also dragon like but very vibrant in color and will glow at night at their will to attract mates, much like a peacock does with its tail feathers, and they have two large claws at the spread to hold them and their mate against whatever surface they may sleep on trees, cliffs, rock faces, and so on. Finally the face the face bears the shape of a leopard in females and in males the face is more dragon like but doesn't leave off the leopard base(for those of you that ask the hermaphrodites bear the face of ether sex) both have scales going down the bridge of the snout and along the lower sides of the muzzle, also they do have horns as well the females normally have two or three pairs of horns the males only have one or two pairs. The teeth structure is very complex they endlessly regrow teeth like sharks but they look like that of a cats except for the four massive upper canines or "fangs"(two for each side) that do not grow in until they reach adulthood and the fore fangs always extend out of the maw by one inch in total the fore fangs are four inches the rear fangs are three inches.

Ok, update to the Allo-Vridi species.

This is for the runes a more detailed look into them. the runes on their fur are not their from birth they are permanently dyed into the fur of every male and female that comes of age. the coming of age for both sexes is 10. The males right of passage is their first hunt they are left in different groups of four with one elder female caretaker who can do no more then tend their wounds.The male must go out and hunt with his group learn to work with others(they are purposely put with the ones they work with the least) so they can be able to overcome any situation. The female caretaker will give their work progress at the end of two months to the tribe's chief and shaman(The chief's mate male or female). They will then decide if the men are fit for adulthood if not they go out with the next group of children unless more than four did not pass. Now the female is a little different so here it is. The females are the caretakers, healers, and sometimes guardians of the tribes(i will later explain that). The females are sent in larger groups of 12 at a time to get used to being around other females and to control their territorial aggression. They are sent out on a three month long venture with two female and two male caretakers per group(to ensure safety) so that they can learn the ways of their current native neighbors of healing, fighting styles(males are taught later by the females), to grow immunities of the diseases of their new found planet home(the males do the same on their rite of passage), and to acquire whatever materials they believe will benefit the tribe(yes i know rip off of mass effects quarians but they ripped of alot to so fair game :P ) in any manner though mostly defensively and medically. Once the females return to the tribe they are asked to display what they have learned and (if any)what they have brought back. If they pass then the chief and shaman and the group of caretakers will choose what they have best skills in and give that soul the rite as a woman to choose what to do, in such more detail, teachers of fighting and defense, healing practices, preparing healthy food(the tribe eats in large feasts not in separate settings), trained as guardians(males can have this rite to but mostly females attain it) if they show extraordinary skill in any of these fields they are given the chance to teach these. As a last note, shared duties of both the males and females involve building, learning how to fight to at least a basic self defense degree, making weapons, raising the young(shared by all the tribes work as a giant family), protecting the tribe in times of distress, service as a caretaker(it is a choice at all times different caretakers can be seen with each rite passage), and lastly teaching the young ones their experiences before they go out on their rites(again voluntary but commonly done by several older members of the tribe and always done by the chief and shaman).
